      Assmann EK

      Hello,

as far as I know, Assmann just made EK II under the numbering of the Präsidialkanzlei (35). EK I and RK never manufaktured from assmann.

It's not clear if Assmann signed their EK with the 35.

      Kind regards

      Walter

Does anyone have this EK2 or a sales kataloge from the time?

        Cheers.

EK 2, as pictured in the most recent reprint of the Assmann catalog.

And the small ribbon ring looks like its affixed above the rim....

Now that's interesting. I wish we could see the beading in the catalog photos.

George, maybe the small ring is soldered in the back and curled over on the front. It would seem a weak joint if only soldered on the top of the rim.

Or maybe there's a "hump" on the top arm that's not apparent in the catalog rendering.

I don't know George, that's a pretty straight line there.

But then again, is that a "drawing" of the cross, or a photo??

I'm going to take a look through the rest of the catalog to try to determine that.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

                            George,

If it's a photo, it could have been touched up to bring out details.

Very curious though, we could at least know for sure who one of the round 3 makers is. Looking at examples that have popped up, I know of at least three slightly different frames that have been said to be good. Mine has a COA from Detlev and the frame is slightly different than yours.
