    Hello

What are your opinions on this cross?

If it's real can you tell me who the maker was?

    Thanks

Don't like the low positioned 1813, but it sure looks real. Maybe a S&L?

Why don't you like the low positioned 1813? S&L is steinhauer&luck?

yes, S&L is Steinhauer&Luck. Both dates should be at the same height in a S&L.

Here is a good resource: http://ek2-dna.de/-4--steinhauer---l...edenscheid.php

Sorry, for me it's not S&L.

Please precise photos of dates (1939 - 1813) and internal angles of this cross.

          Regards
          Jarek

As Jerek mentioned better pictures needed --
-- but in any case that core is not correct - wrong is the 1813 for sure - not a S&L design and reminds of a 333 reverse .
Picture does not let one see the 2nd 1 up close to see if it has the chip or not .

A closer search makes me think it is a revised Latvian fake - that imitates a S&L frame - now only with a different core .
The frame seams to have the short bead in the top arm ... see comparison .

This seller has been around a long time . The fake for comparison is from 2008 .
He uses the same 'bubble' background for years now - changing colors from time to time . ( white, blue green ...) .

Gentlemen ... the other thing I would like to point out - is the low reverse date .

He has put a tremendous extensive effort into his EK2-dna - hats off - and a lot of variations exist , so the very odd one may still be missing or may have been placed in another area .

S&L does have a low sitting reverse date ... it is very uncommon and hard to find .
It absolutely does not look like this one at all !! Shown below :

In my opinion it does resemble an S&L, or perhaps just a hard-to-ID "Standard Design" cross.

Douglas, the Latvian Fake in your comparison is a good maker 11.
                Best regards,

                  Hi Trevor,

date of 1813 in this cross does not fit me in any way to any cross of S&L Design... has more to ... Grossman (= 11)

Doesnt sound good that it maybe is a fake. I think the 1813 is more flat the 1939?

Here a couple more photos i hope they are good enough because i'm not that good with the camera. I will try to make better photos tomorrow with daylight.

                      IMO it's not a fake, it's good war-time cross.

With these new pictures netkuuk - yes I would call yours the same as in post 7 - an original S&L.
The first 1 in 1813 is a bit taller and sits low against the frame - a S&L .

Yes Trevor ... went back to my Latvian file and pulled up the source from 2006 with which the comparison was based on .
One of those old files and an error I should have picked up on .
The new pictures leave no doubt .
Owner of the comparison picture which should have been added: member vic022 .
Reference file has been deleted .
