KC Ribbon - wartime or postwar?

    Hello fellows,

is it possible to say if this KC-Ribbon is original wartime or postwar?

Only thing I can say that it is not melting and that it does not glow under blacklight.

It came with a 1957er KC with oakleaves and swords - KC is 3 piece construction and is marked "800", Okaleaves/Swords also marked "800".

    Best wishes
    Joerg

This would be my next question! How can I see a difference between wartime and postwar KC-Ribbons?

The weave looks like '57 to me. IMO the war-time weave was different. I'd bet a forum member could show you comparisation close-up's.

I can not see the difference, when I compare it with the ribbons in this thread:

Too many assumptions, no real facts. Why say anything at all then?

At least I'll admit that I cannot tell from the picture!

Joerg there's a world of difference in period and '57 ribbon....just spend some time woth the pictures!

The ribbon you show is not pre '45.
                    Regards,
                    Dave

I have a wartime ribbon (shown in the thread linked) and '57 ribbon and I still claim that this is way different and '57. If I'm wrong it's my eyes problem, that's why I need to wear glasses (I'll get them this Thuesday).

                            Hi Rich,

Pure feeling actually... FOR ME it looks way different then the wartimes I saw. I don't really know how to explain this but take a closer look to Dave's pictures. I always say: "the wartime ones are bubbled, the post-war ones not." I can't really explain that sentence but that's how I sort the difference out.
                            Cheers,
                            Junior.
