    Cloth German Cross in Gold

Good afternoon, I'd like to invite comments on this cross I've just picked up locally ... IF the story is to believed from the widow of a German gentleman.

In hand it looks to be Kriegsmarine ?

    All comments are welcomed

    Many thanks, Ian.

          Hi Ian,

an original cross, no doubt. But rather Luftwaffe than Kriegsmarine.

                Ian,
Looks Luft as well on my monitor. You can compare it to a known dark navy blue uniform or modern blazer and the contrast should be more apparent.

Still looks Luft to me, especially in the natural light. The flash does make it look darker , but still not a match to the dark blue that it would be if it were KM.

You are definitely a much better photographer than I am!

I doubt that ... it's just on my Samsung Galaxy S3

                      Cheers, Ian.

I bought it from the local 'Rummage Shop' (sells a bit of all sorts) along with this .. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...95#post7239595 the owner said it came from an elderly local lady when she moved away after her (German) husband's death.

I paid £370 for both items ... £350 for the DKiG and £20 for the Luftschutz Medal, knocked down from £400 and £40 respectively.

There, that's the story as I know it
