    Fake Iron Crosses

I have one EK2 medal, need to verify its originality. Also I noticed that a regalia specialist nicholas morigi manufactures replica EK's. I notice that the detail is accurate right down to makers mark. How do you distinguise real ones from fakes like that. There are even ones manufactured with an "aged" look so someone like me wouldnt know the difference.

Hi Rob, all I can suggest is that your post some photos of your cross here and read this forum from end to end. You will find a huge amount of info here. Sorry there is no quick answer I can give.

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Rob welcome to the forum, like Adrian has already said there no easy way. This does not guarentee originality but is the cross 3 piece in design, is the centre magnetic, does the cross rattle if you shake it (not all do so dont worry if not). like i said this is no guarentee but can help rid some doubts.

When I got it about a year ago, it did rattle and it did have a slight magnetism to it, not much though. Ive locked it in my storage box and lost key. However got bolt cutters on the way to bust it open as I want to display it. Its a 2nd class EK.
