    Strange Ek2 Maker 024?

Hi dear Pals: recently came to my hands this strange Ek2... Maker 024 on Ring... Also the iron centre looks like Repainted? And the Gild of the mark is different... Is magnetic and the weight is 20,72.

But instead looks ok to me....

Feel free to put your opinions... But please with fundaments, many thanks.

It's a typical cross "Arbeitsgemeinschaft... der Hanau" (=24) with additional signature "O".
Additional signature on the rings (small and large) are characteristic for this manufacturer

        Regards
        Jarek

It looks like a 24 with additional mark 0, but it has a really strange finnish.
Is it a multipart cross as the overall look gives me the feel it would be a cast copy of an original 24?
The frame and the core look both like cast imo (both have a porous look), or then it has been badly storaged and it has been touched up.
But this is only my own opinion, what do others think?

Is the ring soldered closed ?
Some thing strange about that EK2 ? Looking at the frame in post 3 ... the frame surface is completely pitted -- like it is a one piece cast or the hole thing has been sand blasted ??
Very shallow and soft features . Looks repainted to me .

It seems to me that the cross was chemically cleaned and repainting

An original war time 24 that -
                        - IMO has been cleaned and repainted post war .

A lot of cores of this maker has problems with rusting .
I would wait for a better one .
