Rare and has seen Battle

I have this rare but fieldrepaired Iron Cross.
Sadly over the Time,the left Arm got a open Frame.As it is to see,the Screwback is complete repaired in the Field.

How do you know this "Has seen battle " and its a field repair and not just a bad condition EK1 that was repaired by a not very skilled collector last week just a thought

the other arms are soldered new.....new...in the fieldrepair.only the left arm is open....
maybe letting someone repair it?

because it looks really worn and the repair also old with patina...sorry for my describtion

In my experience, solder tends to lose it's luster after 70+ years. Not speaking on the authenticity of the cross, and the flash might have brightened it up, but solder doesn't have the level of patina I'd expect for something period-done
