Spanish Cross in Silver - opinons please

    Greetings

What is your opinion on this Spanish Cross in Silver ?

In my view it is 100% authentic; however, I would like the option of the experts.

Furthermore, do you know the maker ?

    Thanks, WilloW

              Hello all,

I had a CEJ 900 cross that had undisturbed patina like the one posted. Personally, I think the 835 Deumer has a more straight disc and more shapely swastikas.

                    Hello again

                    Thanks for the replies.

Being an early award and being quite heavy, am I correct to assume that the Deumer cross is made from Nickel base metal / Tombac with a silver frost ?

Would this award have a silver content ?

                    Thanks, WilloW

I always assumed the 835 was the silver content of the badge overall.

                        Hi William

Yes I also thought this (835/900 referred to silver content), but a friend of mine saw the 835 and immediately stated it was a Deumer. He stated the 835 was the hallmark/LDO of Deumer (odd as I cannot find this number on the LDO list and it does not point to Deumer).

My colleague is not a high level collector (he is into antiques) so his knowledge may not be correct which is why I thought I'd ask those more experienced in this area of collecting

                        Cheers, WilloW

Deumer is "3" and their private purchase LDO is L/11

That is correct William. My list states the same.

Therefore, logic suggests that 835 is the silver content. My colleague should stay with old chairs and tables (which is knows a lot about) and leave 3R to those who actually do know

                            Cheers, WilloW

The cross design details are attributed to first-issue Deumers, while 835 is indeed the silver content.
