    Ritterkreuz information please. First ever??

    Hi all,
Firstly I must say that I HAVE NOT YET SEEN the items I have today been offered this morning and as yet I have no photos.
Today, (I am in Austria) I received a phone call in which I was offered a Ritterkreuz and award document signed by Hitler. Apparently the person to whom it was presented was the First Ever Ritterkreuz winner (I don't know the name).....and was awarded the decoration at the Military Establishment MILAK in Wiener Neustadt in Austria. Does this make sense to anyone? Could it be possible that this is a genuine item for sale or can it only be a fraud?
I will receive some information in an email in the next day or so but I would like to ask in advance if anyone in WA land can give me some advice regarding the possibility that this offer could be remotely feasible or if it can only be a total con.
Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks in advance,
    Terry

Should the first Ritterkreuz have been awarded in Austria??? I say: No way!

And I am almost 100% sure the very first ceremony was to several soldiers.

But, please, post photos here! Do not spend any money before you have posted and got a verdict!

          This story sounds very strange.
Ask for some pictures and post them here

The first RK:s to be awarded was to a group of 10 generals/admirals
after the polish campaign (30 sep), Göring, Kesselring, List, and so on. The next one was to Kapitänleutnant Günther Prien (18oct39).

I believe Goering received the first Knight's Cross. His large urkunde had a second page for spange 1st class. I had examined this about 30 years ago.

Göring was just one of the first group on 30 September 1939: Göring, Raeder, v. Bock, v. Reichenau, Keitel, List, v. Rundstedt, v. Kluge, v. Küchler, Kesselring, Löhr, Blaskowitz and v. Brauchitsch (13 awards)

Second group in October: Prien, Briesen, Guderian, Halder, Hoth, Kübler, Reinhard, Schmitt, Steinhard, Stolz, Höpner, Olbrich, Strauss, ??? ( 14 awards)

Next award was one in March 1940.
