The Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross

    Hello Guys!

When this star was made? For me it's old copy, but who knows.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
it's a modern copy made to look old. It's origin is eastern europe. This star isn't old at all.
    Regards,
    Alex

It is (pretending) to be a ' Blücher Star' or more properly,

Stern zum Großkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes, or Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross.

Agree with Alex this is a more recent reproduction made to look old.

The ones made by Souval in the 1960 and 70 where very well made and puts this to shame and are hard to come by.

Here for comparison is my post war made Souval Grand Cross Star. Made sometime between 1968-1973.
The attached Iron Cross on the Star is a vaulted Souval Schinkel-B variant.
It's a 3 piece construction and has a magnetic core. The pin/catch & open block is St&L Type hardware - typical for items made in this post war period.

        Regards,
        Alex

                    Hi byterock,

"It is (pretending) to be a 'Blücher Star'"

No, it is (pretending) to be a 'Hindenburg Star'; see your own link.

And here is the 'Stickpin' of the Breast Star of the"Grand Cross of 1939"

Details are way much better than my photos....I was using a new 'digital'
camera that I was learning on at the time. It's a 3-piece with 'Gold' metal
"Star", 'Gold' metal "knurled" stickpin & 'Silver' metal 1939 Iron Cross.
