Spanis cross bronze with swords P&L

    Hello
this spanish cross is offered and i will ask about opinions!
I think it is from maker Petz&Lorenz and 100% good!
Perhaps i can get some more opinions about the cross and
and a usual price for a cross from this maker

I have recently bought a Spanish Cross by P&L so I studied a bit this maker
I believe too that this cross is a good one, being the short pin variation. Also notice the the hollow square in the centre of the backside, sometimes present in crosses made by Petz & Lorenz.

      Hello there,

it is an original P & L in good condition.

The price I would see at about 900 euros.

        So much?
I would have said much less. I have seen similar crosses for sale at 600-650 €, and I thought that this one could be even cheaper.
After all the Petz & Lorenz crosses are (at least in my humble opinion) the ugliest ones ever made!

          Hello there,

the eagle from Zimmermann are not really nice.

When a dealer in Germany as a piece in the good condition would cost 1000-1100 euros.

Maybe a little less than 900 euros. But it is a good condition.

With the price that's always a bit tricky.

          greeting

nice cross which kept all its bronze patina. Indeed not the top maker, but nevertheless well done cross and documented on period catalogs.

Now I do have a question

How rare can be considered this particular maker (Petz & Lorenz) comparing it to the others that made this decoration?
Petz & Lorenz lost the license to make military decorations in August 1941, so it could have produced its Spanish Crosses for a couple of years only.
On the other hand, it's not very hard to see P&L crosses around...

So what about the rarity of the P&L crosses?

P&L crosses are not rare and not particularly searched by collectors, even if they are well made. Collectors prefer more known producers as Juncker or S&L, Meybauer, etC...
