That's the first one of that type I've seen in that good condition. Do you think that the "core" has been repainted?

Here's mine. Same type, only vaulted.

It looks like the "3" on your cross sits lower than on the cross from StefanK ?

                    Cheers.

I don't know, Peter. They look pretty alike to me.

                      Here's a similar type hinge/pin/catch setup on a KVK 1.

                        hi george,

no, it was't repainted. i think the cross was probably never worn or only for special occasions (on the swastica there's a small "chip"). you can't see it on the picture that clear but even the frame ist 90% mint.

here's another one from my collection, this time with screwback. (detail of the "3")

i wonder who made these type of eks. doesn't this hinge/ pin also appear on spanish crosses??

                        stefan

                        ps: interesting kvk , george!

Could you take a photo of the obverse in the same way as the obverse of George cross ?
I´m sure your cross is just fine. Just want to know about that year date.

                          Cheers.

                              maker

Based on similar pin setups on some war badges there is speculation that the maker was Petz u. Lorenz. U. Reichenbach WTTBG.
