It is not that serious,
would be worse if someone marked it with a Permanent maker or scratched the maker on it with a car key!
The sticker can probably be removed without seriously harming the cross using the right methods.
But otherwise the cross is really nice!
Nice catch!

Lacquer thinner and a cloth will work . It softens the gum slowly - light rubbing - may need to go over it a few times .
Do not use liquid wall paper stripper and not furniture stripper - they de-oxidize - as a solution of different products far too strong - and end up with a ,bleached' spot !!
The same goes for Acetone and nail polish remover might 'bleach' also do a test spot first ! Paint thinner is not strong enough - just makes a smeary mess .
Charcoal starter - like Butane liquefies the gum and it smears around also and besides that evaporates far to fast - besides it is very volatile - flash burns are not fun .
Recommend a well ventilated area , gloves and eye protection .

Stop!
Don't use thinner or strong products like that. There is no reason for that. And it might cause the surface to look different afterwards.
There are most likely similar products like this in the States.

Hagmans I have used for years, don't leave a trace and works perfect, takes a couple of seconds.
Else when I worked in the glass industry we just used water and washing cleaner.
