If it were original I would say it was very rare, but this type is controversial. 5tefan and others believe it is original but in my opinion it is a postwar copy, a so-called "333 Mayer."

this is 100% original, it came within a huge lot of badges of one family, from 1866 to 1945.

There are certainly collectors who agree with you, and if you are happy with the cross, then that is the most important thing.

This type has been discussed many, many, many, many times. There are good arguments on both sides. A search for 333 Mayer will turn up multiple, long discussions.

Why not read through them and see which side you find more compelling?
                      Best regards,

Thanks. I have absolutely no concern about its originality. It came direct from private, no collector touched the group, all other items are without any question good. So why this one wouldn`t be?

And the quality and condition are outstanding. My photos doesnt judge it correct, it looks perfect in hand...

                              I'll say more
two days ago, one of the well-known collectors and dealers offered to sell me the beautiful set - Cross EK2-1939 signed between L/18 with a box of LDO's signature L/18 for the bargain price of 550 euros ... except that it was a small problem for me - the cross was so called "Fake 333". On my attention on this issue no longer answer ...
Please do not ask, do not tell who it was, there are some rules of confidentiality, even though I feel that somebody wanted me ...

As you can see the cross "333-fake" is quite a minefield

                              Regards
                              Jarek
