knights cross, fake?

Hello,
My good friend has got this cross and wondering the authency of it, the core is rusty and I doubt myself it being a good one.
I am not very good on RK, but the one thing that makes me unsure is the condition of the core and there is no silver content mark on the frame.

the pictures are terrible, but this is the best he could provide me with.
