The adhesive is a fresh, light sticks all the time, as if freshly applied.

The case looks good ... the sticky glue is odd ?

The cross is fine (but polished).

The case looks a bit odd to me also but I'm not 100% sure either way. I would expect to see brown glue underneath the insert, but then again most postwar cases do not have wooden inserts. I have never taken a case of this type apart so I can't compare to anything.
