    Value/Manufacturer of this 1939 EK1?

Hello all! New here, so bear with my unfamiliarity with the terminology.

Family asked me to help him sell what looks to be a 1939 Iron Cross First Class. Doesn't appear to be a manufacturer's mark. Any idea which it might be?

    Thanks

I think Sanya's correct on both. (I know he is on the maker, and the price sounds decent )

          Appreciate the heads up

Wow, thank you so much for pointing this out. It would be unfortunate to be expelled from this community just after signing up.

Thank you for the feedback! Out of curiosity, can you tell the manufacturer based on the fastener? Or is there some other way to distinguish without the mark?

There are several ways in which unmarked EK can be associated to specific maker(s).

Some, like the Souval frame crosses, are easily distinguished through several well known characteristics. Others require more in depth evaluation of such factors as the hardware on the reverse side (specific to an EKI) as well as beading placement and size, frame shape and width as well as core type, composition and other such variations.

It's not rocket science but does require good eyesight and an interested mind if you really want to make a study of the EK and it's numerous forms.

                Regards,
                Stu
