EK "26" mint question

Hello, I picked up a beautiful EK "26" not too long ago and am very, very happy with it. While reading on the forum, I read a bit about a "Russian Hoard" of these that were discovered not too long ago from a museum. Wondering if there is any truth to this? It's a great story regardless. I'd just like a little background on where my "26" could have been hiding for all these years. It's truly the highlight of my collection.
