            Guys, thanks for all opinion!
I got cross. Thanks to the seller. Usually I don`t cleanse badges, prefer to retain the original patina, but this time I decided to clean. In my opinion patina was not fairly nice, spotty... After 4 hours of soft, very gentle cleaning I got up original factory polished frame!!! Difficult take very good photos, in hands looks better!
See the difference. Hope you like it!

Looks a lot better with the patina, still do not understand why collectors like to clean off something that took 70 years to form.

I mentioned that I prefer to retain the original patina, only this time I decided to clean, performed very gentle cleaning, without abrasives, suffered no scratches or damage. I got up original factory polished frame. I totally satisfied with result.

Some people say that these beautiful, shiny crosses S & L produced after the war. Sometimes I think that may be right ...

Not necessarily, some original badger, medals, crosses looks shiny although they are 75+ years old. Example - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=798442

                              Not the same

                              Hi

Not to make you feel bad. But absolut not the same. If you had the other
cross in hand you would see a big difference.

The other badge have received a so called frosting. You will see the
old age patina under the frosting.

But yes Iron Crosses do have different patina. Do to matrial used and how they where stored. But an untouched piece would never look as yours do now.
The cross have lost value and is less desirable.

But done is done injoy the cross as it is now.
