EK2 clasp, this one I haven't seen before...

Just got in this very nice clasp.
It's in minty condition, but misses 1 prong.

I have had a lot of clasps over the past years, but I have never seen one of these so far.

The claws are like S&L , the head looks a bit like a Deumer but is different.

The only thing that comes close is the unknown maker's Prinzen..

Any idea's on this one??
Finding something "new" is pretty rare when you think you have seen them all.....

I think it is a Meybauer with non-segmented claws just not sure. Jim

Hi Jim,

It has some similarities with a Meybauer but it's not the same design. To me this maker is unknown, although I have seen (photos of) other ones before.

It does, but the date is different. I would go with Unknown maker.

marking it as "the unknown maker" is not what I was aiming for.

the clasp looks like S&L and Meybauer, but is not the same.
It does however look pretty similar to the "unknown maker Prinzen"

There may be some differences, but the I am referring to the overall appearance.
I don't expect them to be exactly the same since they obviously are from different dies....

have you got an UnknownMaker 1st class to compare in hand?
I'd always hoped a 2nd class would show up at some point, but it's such a long shot

Jon, I don't have one at hand, but there are enough pics online.
I don't see anything that makes me think it's link to that ek1 clasp.....
