Cased L57 1st Class Spange for review

I picked up this cased 1st class spange marked L57 years ago. Is it real and is there anything special about it?

Authentic and difficult to find. The LDO box and insert make it even more special.

I have the zinc example in screwback but have never found a perfect early type as you have posted.
