Cant see the Obvious die flaws in the "3" and the 6 o'clock arm so i would be carefull.

That certainly sounds ominous! Can anyone help me with that as I've never had one of these to evaluate nor do I have the resources to make a completely valid evaluation?
Thank you all for the help so far,

          Knights cross

I thought the flaws were progressive in nature. Early production crosses did not have the flaws. As the dies became dirty, the flaws became more apparent. Is this a correct assumption?

The earliest crosses are unmarked and do not have the flaws. As production continued, flaws developed with a clipped center stroke of the 3 and a line flaw on the lower arm. I do not know where the stages are alligned and have been curious to see a timeline for both with and without swords.

I am hoping Dietrich and George are going to do a book on the War Merit Cross to the same specification of the other fine books they have published.

It is in the works! However, too early to give definitive conclusions. More study on the Rks is needed.

So can anybody give me a verdict on this cross? I'm inclined to put it in the doubtful category based on everything else I've seen in the collection, but just want to be sure.
