Very nice, my compliments, and I actually tried to buy it yesterday from the dealer as it turned out he sold it months ago. I don't understand why people advertise items they no longer posses.
I too am looking for one of these minty "Russian hoard" crosses. I came across a couple of "minty" ones for a thousand dollars. One had mold, the other had rust coming out from under the black paint, others had wear already from handling.
I am a newb to medals but common sense is to use gloves when handling such items in mint state. Crosses are not my area of expertise, SS helmets are, and I still use gloves when handling helmets that were made to take a beating.
Yes, there are indeed more of these mint Russian hoard sets to be found out there. But only a handful or two of these are actually in what I would consider "perfect" condition, as far as I have seen anyway.
I was just messing around with my phone and I took these shots of my cross using only sunlight. Think they actually turned out quite well. What do you guys think?
