Why it's so expensive, even more than 1619 dollars???

Can you tell me what is prinzen size?

Is the RK that as big as EK2 belongs the same category of prinzen size?

It is RK's fake that has a common size as EK

Hi JC,

The term prinzen normally applies to EK1s and EK2s and indicates that the cross is approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of full size (about 33 mm instead of 44 mm). 1939 EK1 and EK2 Prinzen size crosses are rare. 1914 Prinzen EKs are more plentiful but still uncommon to rare.

The term prinzen is left over from Imperial times - I've heard prinzen sized medals/orders/crosses were introduced for wear by young nobility (ie children) however older military people with a chest full of medals also wore prinzen size (eg Kaiser Wilhelm). I'll leave it to someone else to provide a more accurate history if required.

I've only seen them in books. Bowen illustrates 1 or 2. I think Geissler also images one. Hence ..... RARE!

You are asking several questions at the same time so lets start with the size of the prinzen. Pieces that I know of are all from before World War II. (Imperial) They measure between 32 to 36mm, most being around 33-34mm. I have never found the elusive prinzen size from the Third Reich. I do not know if they even exist, although someone pointed out they are in Bowen and Giesslers (sic) books. I have search high and low but have never come across one I could hold in my hand.
Next, you show two different knight's crosses. The second posting you show I believe to be a 1950's reproduction, I can tell by the eyeloop, which is two-layered, with an inner ledge to the loop itself. Can you tell me if on the back it has an "800" silver content stamp only? I hope you can understand what I am writing as I realize your English is far superior to my Chinese.

Stephen, there is not any mark in the second posting RK I show to you, it only has an "925" on the loop .
I want to know if there is really has a EK that is onesize as RK in the history?

The answer is yes, there is an EK, known as an Ubergrosse (san umlaut over U) with a size compatible to a Knight's Cross.
