Knights Cross - Klein and Quenzer - Thoughts?

    Gents,

This may be a one looker, good or bad, to you. I searched the Forum Post "Knights Cross Photo Database" and have identified this one as a K & Q from the photos in that post. I've compared the photos between the below and the post and can't make out any real differences, other than may be where it's marked 800 65 (more spacing between the marking in the photos below). If bad, is there a tell-tale sign for you? Trying to educate myself, without just saying 'good or bad'. Many thanks. Scott

              hi Scott,
as said this is a good one and in answer to your question there are a number of tell tale signs that are unique to each maker which you need to learn. These are best learnt from studying the originals in the data base along with one of the better modern books on the KC which highlight them. On the K&Q KC its the style of ring, the place where the corners join and on the later period crosses the three dot flaw that get more pronounced as the number of crosses are made. Its a combination of these and other characteristics that will identify an original.
              Good luck

What everyone else said. A very nice example that looks to be well made. It would be interesting to see how well the frames have been joined, but I imagine it is up to 65 standard. Hopefully you can get hold of it.
