    KVK2 Bronze question

    Hello all. I have a MM14 KVK2 that sounds like it is made of solid bronze. Does anyone have an approx. number of how many of these were produced? Also, how much more desirable/rare (if any) is the solid bronze version vs its bronze washed counterparts?
    Thanks, Hayden

      I wasn't aware that any KVKII's were bronze constructed, but rather tombak or buntmetal (early war) and zinc (late war). I could be mistaken.

        I would think he means Brass/tombak ?
        Brass --> copper + zinc
        Bronze --> copper + tin

          Here are some photos of the cross. The reason I said bronze was because I was searching it on the main WAF information site and it said that a few were made in bronze. This cross does have a nice "ring" to it.

            My guess would be brass/tombak . Mine rings also and it is tombak .

              It's a nice early 'brass/bronze' cross
              & it's "original"!

                Tombak, is a brass alloy with high copper content and 5-20% zinc content. Tin, lead or arsenic may be added for colouration.
