    3x KC's - Opinions appreciated.

I have 3 Knights Crosses that I friend sent me photos of that I would like some opinions on.

These could very well be junk although confirmation of that would be very much appreciated.

Apologies in advance for the watermarks over the photos.

I will refer to them and KC1 , KC2 & KC3. and will upload photos of each in a different post.

The third one is a nice silver frame Souval

One and three are postwar Souval to me ( with KC1 having a fake "4" mark ). Number two is a reproduction piece.

For me all three RK are post-war, without a doubt IMO.

Humbly, may I suggest that a great teaching/learning opportunity has been presented here! Seize the moment, gentelmen; state support for your conclusions. I do NOT contest your observations or opinions, I simply ask that you benefit all and share knowledge worth sharing.

I humbly say the learning opportunity is already here (in abundance) for those who "go fishing", instead of being thrown a fish.

Simply do a search for threads where KC's are presented and the replies are "Original".

Then compare frames, dates, beading, swastikas, ribbons, and all the minutiae that differentiate "original" from "post-war/fake".

While it would be nice to have it all condensed here, it's only a matter of time before this thread slithers down in the queue, disappears, and the same thing occurs in 3, 6, or 12 months.

                      with respect,
                      Hank

Now THIS is funny! I had considered alluding to the same fishing proverb in my post as well. However, my context and intent would have been in direct contrast to yours.

Perhaps you have hit upon a great idea, Hank! Let's not allow this wisdom to slip into obscurity, only to be asked for and repeated over and again. Let's compile this information in perpetuum, and ask that the moderator "Pin" the thread. Clearly, it is of great interest to the participants of this "discussion forum."

                          Chris,

You often ask for a detailed accounting of every reason why every piece is fake in every thread. There is so much information already on this forum -- use it!
                          Best regards,

Although your statement is a bit of an exaggeration, I will agree that I do often inquire beyond that which is offered. But I do so only because "it's fake" offers so little. I must disagree, however, that I ever asked for a "..detailed accounting ..." . I asked only for people to share their observations and I did so in the hopes of prompting fellowship and collegial discussion. With some good fortune, such a discussion would fill the void which always follows those two fatal words.
