Looks more silver grade to me. Heavy price.

The photos don't suggest gold. Maybe in hand the obverse shows gilting?

When mint, the gold finish from this manufacturer is so bright that it is difficult to photograph, but this may be a case where the finish fades significantly with wear.
(A similar phenomenon exists with the finish on some K&Q RK's.)

Yup, look at most L/12's. Same thing. Wear. This one isn't 800 or 900 silver so the metal may look like anything other than gold when worn. And the photo you show of the one on the left is cheating a bit with the lighting. I can get that color on my L/12 if I reduce the lighting and darken up the final product. Not saying it's you cheating, just the comparison in different light isn't a fair comparison.

OK, Brian, here's one taken just now in (overcast) outdoor natural light.

P.S. Instead of taken last night in a not-bright-at-all room.........

                  Hi Leroy,

has since played a collector with the sun? Or brought the piece to the jeweler, and he has golden color painted?

                  Have you ever the back?

                  Gruß Hansgünter

Were the P&L award pieces? I would be dissapointed to have this medql when there are so many fine makers. It is original, but so substandard that I could not bear to have on in my collection unless it was a gift.

Very nice piece, is very rare, P & L in such a good condition. They were not produced long.

Send it to Just to Germany if you no longer wish to have it!

                        Gruß LC

I would hate to cause blindness in another collector, so it must remain here.

                              Tough crowd.

Granted, the P&L is not the nicest SK in construction (and the hardware is horrific), but you'd have to admit this one survived in pretty good shape...

Besides, it not like I don't have any others to fall back on.
