I just purchased a document group to Oberfeldwebel Franz Sauter.
He was award the EK2 and Black Wound Badge.
The EK2 was awarded 14 September 1943, Wounded the next day.
The EK2 document says "Gefechtsstand" I am wondering if the EK2 was awarded for actions that day. Is there any way to tell?
He served with "II/ LW. JG. Rgt. 29/ Luftwaffe Field Division 15"Comment
