Well I went with the light Zimmermann (20) attributed to Oberfeldwebel Heinrich Haßler pilot in the 1.(H)/11 (Pz.) and awarded on 13.6.1944, however Heinrich did not return from flight on 14.6.1944. I think this explains why I also have part of the cellophane wrapper for the award.

I have included pics of the award doc and other documents that originated with this grouping. Unfortunately, the only item I have of his, is the award and only pictures of everything else, Sorry for the quality of the pics of the DKiG, they were the only ones I managed to take before my camera died.

I think George sumed this up, it has more "soul" than a non attributed piece. It's nice to be able to put a face to the award, I just wish I could afford the rest of the group.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

Wow- try to set up some deal with the seller to keep the whole grouping intact. Very nice!

                  Craig,
Well done, not an expert on awards, but that looks a dandy of a DKiG and I love the doc. Did I read the thread correctly that this cost you 9000 or was that 9000 for the group?

Was this the group on MPL?

Once again congrats on the award and document great set, as you mentioned its a pity that they have been split.
                  Regards

Thanks. All I have from the dealer is the DKiG, I asked the dealer if they would split the DKiG award document from the rest of the document grouping pictured previously and they wouldn't do it. This is my second large purchase this month, so I cannot afford the document group with the Honour Goblet (9000 euros+) or the other awards offered by the dealer that belonged to Heinrich Haßler. The cased P/O badge has been sold, but there is still the following awards to go with the documents pictured on the dealer's site: Croatian pilot's badge, black wound badge (Legion of Condor), Croatian silver bravery award and a cased observers reconnaissance flight clasp in gold.

It's such a killer to see everything split up, but there is only so many sub post offices you can hold up at gun point over the Christmas period. To buy the remaining docs and awards would be an additional 10,500 euros and if you did that you would have to track down the P/O badge as well. I think the only missing items would fom the group would be the EKI and EKII awards. I haven't seen a more complete grouping before, so it is quite heart wrenching to see it go different ways. I would even sell the DKiG to the future owner of the rest of the group to keep it together.

Sorry Simon I don't know what MPL is....

                      Hi Craig
I was thinking MajorPLM who had a large LW grouping on their site for 39000 euros and if it wasn't sold by the end of November they were going to split it up. I see now however that it has disappeared altogether, but I see now yours is not from there.

I wish you well on the project of keeping the group together but I now how hard that can be.

                        Hi Simon,

Thanks, if I manage to salvage any more of the grouping I will post further updates here.

                        All the best.

Wow Craig. An attributed piece has a heart. That certainly has a heart. Please try and raise funds for the rest of the grouping!

                            39000 euros??!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

What was in that grouping that would command such a price? That would be $53,000 US.
