EKII rough cut or what?

I have had this EKII for a while which is framed on my wall and upon taking a picture of it I noticed on the right side along the outside edges close to the swastika it looks rough like it was made like that or damaged or something.

To be clearer the line of the metal is curvy on the bottom half out outside edge to the right, nearest to the center.

I think it was just made like that but I am not sure. Does anyone have any opinions on it?

Also any thoughts on the maker?
