    EK1 L59 Screwback with patina

    Dear all,

This is a L59 EK1 which I've recently purchased. I would appreciate all valued opinions on this cross. Thanks to all in advance for your inputs and opinions!

    Best Regards,
    Yun

No expert by any means but I do have one of these . Mine has the anti-rotation pin slightly lower than yours . The L/59 on mine matches yours . Mine does not have the squiggle [ or whatever you want to call it ] proof below it . Mine has a triangle proof below the socket . Not perfectly level or centered but close . My disc is brass looking where the silver is worn off like yours and the rays are the same length . Can't see the arm flaw clearly so no opinion on that . Core and paint look close also . To cut the crap out it looks good to me . That is by NO MEANS an expert opinion but it matches mine well . Actually it matches decent with a pinback L/59 and a 16 marked EK2 I have also . Congrats Dave

Thanks Dave for your opinion. Yes I find there're some different marks ( triangle or curve, etc) under or beside the "L59" on these crosses, but I don't know what the meaning they are? Further opinions are welcome.

Yes a nice EK1 with common mark L59 . The frame or core is rotated 90 degrees . ... often found that way .
A study I did shows that approximately 60 % of all Rettenmaiers have the L59 with a 'S' mark .... 30% have just the L59 and 10% have no markings at all .
These strange extra markings I have found so far sits at 26 different ones .
