    Otto Baum Junker KC

I thought I would Share a couple photos of my big acquistion of the year. This is the Otto Baum RK. Some had opportunity when this was offered on Kai's site however I figured I would share with those who have not had opportunity to see.

    Enjoy.

Very nice Chris and indeed a BIG acquistion. I also tried to buy something of the Otto Baum nachlass, the Ostmedaille. I was too late

Very nice cross. It is a shame to see such wonderfull groupings dismantled.....

Great piece! Thanks for posting. That must certainly stir some emotion when handling this as opposed to an unattributed cross.

By the way, what does ESQ mean?

I am really not big on using the ESQ except in issues such as copyrite or photo protection. It stands for Attorney at Law. Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Yes there were items for sale on ESTAND this year which is how I came to acquire this grouping. I was able to purchase this from Kyle Harrington. Unfortunately I had been travelling and was not able to save as much of the collection as possible from break up. I have been looking to at some point reuinting at least some of the crosses as I have the KC and the EK II ... I don't know anything about the whereabouts on the DK i G or the EK 1. Looks like his Soldbuch just disappeared I was going to try to go after it at the beginning of this coming year .

I am sorry t hear about the SB, I had look at it several times, but that was about as far as it went. Its surprising as its been on his site for a long time. I wish you all the best in hunting down other items of the collection.

Interesting about the abr of ESQ between the US & UK.

Yeah I agree Simon a case of snooze and lose unfortunately I am sure it will surface at some point. Actually its interesting because the origins of the Esquire are the same... in the US it has been a tradition to use it for Attorneys... there must be some origin but I am not really sure . thank you so much for your kind words everyone ... this has been a good year so far !

Thanks for the bit about esq-esquire-attorney at law. I learned something today!

Perhaps you could ask Kai Winkler for his records as far as who purchased these items. You could contact them and make them an offer to try to reunite parts of this grouping.

                            Chris,

Again, congratulations on a great pick up. Just an unbelieveable feeling to have something like that in hand, and to also be able to look at a photo and see THAT cross hanging around the neck of the recipient. God, I love history as much as these medals.

Best of luck in re-grouping these items. PLEASE keep us up to date.

                              Hello Chris,

Looks like we share the same passion. Re-uniting what was once lost. I dedicate my work to Teddy Wisch but I keep away from the insignia.

Is there any photographic evidence of you cross worn by Otto?

                              Regards,
                              Markus
