                What a wonderful find. I hope you can find out which Luftwaffe general was interred at that camp. That woukd make the find even better.

                    I agree with Bob, try to do some research to see if you can find out who was at the camp. there can't be too many LW generals who were there. Can you post a close up of the date on the DKIG?

                        Island Farm German Crosses

                        Thanks for all of the comments so far. I will try and get pics of the DK date.

                        Just for everyones info so far. I have found 3 Luft General Majors at Island farm and one was awarded the DK in Gold / EK I / Black Wound badge and lots more. That being said so far it could be

                        1. Major General Ludwig Heilmann.
                        2. Major General Gerhard Bassange.
                        3. Major General Hans Erdmann.
