          spange

John, this one I call type "B" made by Deumer. On another forum they say it is a fake. Can you weigh yours, measure height and width? Mine weighs 10 grams. Jim

                Hi John

You seem a bit dissapointed ?

The attached EK II spange (unmarked) which I beleived to be an original unmarked Deumer received the same verdict on the same thread/forum that Jim mentioned. Apparently these fakes are quite common and notorious in Europe but you know what? I'll just put it aside and wait for more evidence.

When I started to get interested in this hobby again after a 30 year break and started visiting forums they were debating wether unmarked thin flight badges like the Pilot & the Observer I had were just repros or not too convincing copies of early Juncker flight badges. As it turned out they were original early Deumer flight badges so...

                Take care

                JC

IMO, JC, a great point; and a shining example of an "Object Lesson."

Glad to put a smile on your face John as long as you appreciate I dont know diddly sqwat and it doesnt change the fact that it could indeed be bad...I just find it odd that these have been floating around for years unchallenged (that I am aware of anyway) before suddenly turning into total crap. Since the damage is done and there aint much I can do about that now I just want to make sure I dont compound the booboo by chucking it in the recycle bin before I've seen enough evidence to get a warm and fuzzy feeling about what I am contributing to my local waste management program

                      Take care
