It would be great if you had one that was unquestionable and this one in hand to use the same tools to measure and weigh. Swas arms look very wrong. Too wide. Eagles have bubbly look. Other details are perfect but that's what a cast copy is all about. If you can get a clear concise right on non blurry picture of an eagle with those bubbles and another shot of one with the hilt you could send it to a few people via email. I've blown up your pics here on my PC and nothing I do makes me comfortable. It's conceivable the Swas was added to the cross after removed by the original owner but I see no evidence of it. Everything is very clean to the eagle attachments so that seems far fetched...

For me this detail puts it in the "let's see it in hand" category.

And again I wish I had it in hand but this photo makes it look like these aren't separately created pieces put together but one single molded piece...

So much about this cross is perfect but...

          Measurements:

Height and Width : 58.3 mm

Point to Point Diagonal : 62.5 mm

Arm Width : about 24 mm

          Swords : 64 mm

          Medallion : 16,6 mm

All measurements with small accuracy about 0,1 , I think no more.

Weight : imo about 49 grams - I dont have professional jewellery scale, sorry.

Whats Your thoughts now? Thank You, Rob

Be nice if the dealer who sold this to Oscar could trace its origin backwards...

In some Pictures, I think it looks like there's a casting seem visible on the edge of this Spain Cross.

I sold the badge to Oscar, he is going to send it back to me of course.

About the origin of this badge, you should see this topic. I bought it earlier this year from a fellow forum member who offered it to me after he had it on the forum for discussion. See his thread:

I hope someone who knows the dimensions and weight of an original Juncker can join and give some conclusive information regarding this piece being original or not.

                Regards, Jim

                  Hello collectors,

here times the mass of my CEJ 900 pieces.

                  Weight: 34.93 gram
                  Height: 55.7
                  Width: 55.6
                  Medallion: 16.5
                  Swords: 62.2

The pieces almost always show a different bend, this also changes the mass.

But I would note that the mass and weight of a good cast copy is not really what testify.

I have measured well over 100 pieces, it proved very many cast copies.
The deviation is only about 2-3 percent. This is very little at the low masses where the pieces are in the original.

It is much more important to go deep into the picture and look for typical characteristics.

I'm about to make the image and set it.

                  Greeting LC (Hans Günter)

Here is a picture from the locket and the swastikas of the eagles.

The surface grain on the locket and between the swastika is significantly different as the Diskusions piece.

The swastikas of my pieces are all different and show typical traces of the hand. These are completely absent in the Diskusions piece.
These see themselves in the deep of very rounded and have no sharp knew.

                    More images follow.

2 Pictures of the front and back.

On the front of the Talkshow piece missing on the grain size is very washed out, this has nothing to do with worn or not. But meisst is a sign for a cast copy. The grain size can not be so easily cast by.
The grain size between the swastika does not wear out, because there is no contact with clothes or anything else.

In the back is also very good to see that the whole area is very untypical of the Diskusions piece. The smoke back surface is much too strong.

Also falls in Diskusions piece on the needle, needle Bock, needle hook has the same surface as de body itself.

See these parts in the surface never like the body.

Here is a very important picture.

In the coinage of the cross body and the hilts arise on the side embossed features. This may not be missing and must be also good to see.

For old topic sword handle errors in Juncker, I can only say that this is always seen in cast copies also. And for a long time no more evidence for an original.

                        Greeting LC

Thank you for your excellent explanation in depth. It's clear and you can see the differences. Too bad it is a fake after all. Oscar will send it back and get his refund of course. I've send a pm to the forum member I've bought it from and hope I will be able to get a refund as well.

                          Regards, Jim

                            hello,

yes it is a shame with the piece. Copies are always bbesser, but if all have a look, then the copier have no possibility to harm us.

I hope all people get their money back.

If you have questions about pieces of the Legion Condor they can always contact me. if I can help I do like it too.

Well at the beginning I too thought this SC was ok. The CEJ stamp is spot on. The fakers got that right along with the sand blasting on the back. I did PM Rob (Oscar) and asked him to post the measurements when he could. I when I saw that the weight was 49 Grams I knew something was wrong. That's a whopping 13g heavier than it should be. The better close-up photos also helped. Well done to Hans on his assessment.

I'm afraid the fakes will only get better.

                              Regards,
