    I got the left hoping it to have a brass core but it did not .
    I had no idea until I got the right brass core EK2 that there was even a difference .
    Looking at them by themselves you do not see it . I bet there are a few here that may have both cores and do not even know it !

      thanks for the comparison fotos. I'm a schickle fan but i never knew about the different cores. learning information like this is what this fourm is all about.

        A few other makers also have slightly different core sizes . As shown here in EK2s we find 2 cores used - made in various materials - iron, nickel and brass .
        I would note that we possibly may find 2 cores used in EK1s also - I have not found any yet .

          I've got these pieces,if that helps ( here a old picture my pieces)
          the left side very misleading because the judging from the picture it ,looks like copper
          but this is just a primer paint
          with such the in color
          This is a magnetic core

          and the middle cross is have thin swaz
          such type yet not I met this In addition to

                        Took a wile to get to it Sanya :
                        Of the group of 3 crosses - left to right : Tall date - tall date - regular date
                        Post 25 : EK1 early tall date
                        Post 26 : both EK1s have the tall date
