Ribbons For Kc's

Can Someone Tell Me " Do All Ribbons Created Before 1945 " Not Glow Under The Black Light. I Also Need To Know About Some Kc Ribbons I Have That Are Of Different Size. Last But Not Least Do The Original Kc Ribbons For 1957 Kc Glow Or Not. You Can Zoom The Picture

Hey Joe...Glad you finally found this site!!!


Generally pre '45 ribbon will not glow..however if it was washed subsequently it may.

Some '57 ribbon was just leftover 'period' stock and when that ran out additional ribbon was produced but (now) utilized a different manufacturing technique. The material too was different and glowed. The 'binding' on the outside of the ribbon was very different and a lot of it showed a white binding thread along the edges.

I guess I am moving up in the world of collecting. I thank you for the warm
welcome Dave and should have know you'd be here.
I have 2 kc now the one I aquired from a very nice guy I know ( period )
and a 1957. I am trying to decide what ribbon should go with which kc, so I will take the the larger non glowing ribbon to put with the reich period kc and then take the next largest glowing to put with the 1957 kc. Does this sound about right. Can you tell me why the difference in sizes?
