    Opinions on an EK2

Price didn't go too high, so I went on it, regardless of it's condition. The following pics are from the seller, and appears to be an early EK2. The Cross itself is not in my possession as of yet, but I'm guessing early S&L, or, an unknown?

That thing would never be cheap enough for me to spend money on it.

So, it arrived today, and it's not an S&L. It's an early "rattler", but IMO, made by Wagner. Before I go posting more pics, yes the Cross is not in the best of shape (core has been "touched-up"), but where are you going to find another like it? Anyway, here's some more pics for open discussion...

I must say im with Tom here, the condition would turn me off but congrats on it anyway Ken
As for the maker well if M says its a "44" then it very well might be.

I had to re-check it, and there was one (see pics below), marked with a 52 on the ring that threw me, and the "one" on the 1813, on mine, seems to hang more than the average 44. I don't know gents, it's close, but likely a 44. Still different than this one (marked 44), on youtube IMO... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw2hbVU6fGA ***All said, it's still very "early" for it's "type", and was "carried" during the war. Under the glass, it's even more symmetrical, against a "later" example, by 109, in my collection --which is "MINT" and "symmetrical".

Certainly not a dull Cross to look at, both in the pics, and, "in hand". Lots of hand finishing went into it (see pics), and not all things "mint" hit the mark with me. This one does, regardless of who made it.
