    Juncker L/12 800 for review.

    Hi guys,

i bought the cross from the latest cgmauction. Some of you may have noticed the cross.
I showed it too some friends on the net but some douchebag decided to copy the pictures, upload them to a server
and post them on the axis board. First comment were thumbs down.
    That is so...
Because it's too late already i will put the cross for review here.

    Kind regards

IMO the RK is 100% original Tom

              It's a good cross.

If you have a chance, would you please count the number of white stitches in the ribbon? It looks like it might be 30, but it would be nice to be sure.

                  Hi Leroy,

you were right. 30 stitches. It's was not easy to find a good place to count the white stitches. When looking in detail, the ribbon shows signs of intensive wear wich makes it hard (and on some places impossible) to count.

Thanks! I really like these 30 stitch ribbons and believe that they are fairly early.

                        Hi Kraut,

                        with pleasure.
The loop suffered just like the ribbon a bit from wear as you can see on the pictures. The 800 faded partly away and it's a bit out of shape. But actually that's the way i like them

Very nice Juncker KC! But this loop not L/12 type, and not with typicaly 800 hallmark ....Sorry but for me this one replaced loop

This cross is attributed to GFM Von Rundstedt according Bill Shea.
It was bought by him years ago from a fellow us collector who bought it from a german lawyer, who bought it from the daughter Edith Von Rundstedt when the family had debts. I did some homework and found that VR received the RK on 30/9/1939. So correct me if i'm wrong but i assume he received a zinc core Juncker RK. That's not this cross but i believe that somebody like VR had several crosses. So the story could be true... but i always buy the item and not the story. It could be acceptible that rings and ribbons were switched from the original set. For collectors a no go but for the original wearer it doesn't matter... as long as he could wear the RK with pride. I contacted Bill Shea to ask if had other personal items from the same grouping but he don't want to sell them for the moment.

Oh, the romance! What a nice piece of story telling and so "credible"! There are really some "master seller" in the hobby!

However, a nice and genuine cross and that would have been enough description. No need to embelish. But some dealers have a hidden Hemingway inside and the urge to add some "special touch" for the extra money.
