Cased EK1 - Deschler "1" (No Foot) Maker Marked

I have just added this cased EK1 to my collection.

I have not owned a Deschler previously and note the swastika is very low compared to other EK's in my collection and also the finish is quite gritty to the touch like a fine sandpaper almost.

Deschler, my personal favourite. They built a very solid cross.

Deschler had at least 2 different cores for their regular crosses
One has a high swas, the other one a low swas.

And the finih did vary throughout the war, not uncommon (for other makers as well)

That's a nice looking cross, I've had Deschler's with that same "porous" finish. They are a very substantial cross!
