    what is your opinion on this S&L German Cross in Gold ? It is not marked "4".

                        What are the differences between S&L post war vs late wartime production in terms of rivits, pin type, disc finish etc. ? I personally don't belive the missing "4" can be judgement if a S&L German Cross is post war or not.

                          The colour of the star burst reminds me of 57er pieces so I would opt for early postwar. That, obviously, is no guarantee that it is postwar. A good looking DK in either case

                              Hi Alex, I've reposted this thread more than any other, but it should give you some idea on why this cross is more like the 57er version than a wartime cross.

                              I do not know for sure my gold S&L is wartime, but if they made one during the war, I think it would look like mine.
