EK 1 Spange with pink oxidation?? opinions please

Hi guys, what do you think about the pink color on spange? In my opinion is a kind of initial oxidation because it base no thickness and it is in fissures, but I've never seen it in hands.

For the seller is not oxidation but something that could be stick on…

Have you ever seen something like this before?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Folks,

I'm the seller of this Spange and as Andrea already stated, I don't think that the pinkish stuff is oxidation but I have been wrong before, therefore we would appreciate very much some knowledgable input concerning the pinkish spots.

I can try to snap some better close ups if that would help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Alex

      Spange

The spange is original and I think what we are seeing is the base metal or undercoating bleeding through. Jim

To me it looks like rainbow-colored toning of the silver plating, very desirable in old coins. It is a type of tarnish.

I agree, seems like natural toning.

It could be residue from jewelers rouge used in polishing.

Thanks guys, your input is much appreciated.
The spange has a very nice patina with some blue hues as well. Unfortunately I was not able to catch it with my pictures.

I'm fairly certain that this spange was sitting in it's case for a very long time without being touched or handled.
