Iron Cross Second Class Silver in Ribbon

Hi,

I have an iron cross second class with ribbon. The stripes on the ribbon which are normally white on other medals appear more silver.

Does anyone know why this is? Is this on all iron cross second class medals?

Any insight will be appreciated.

That is the normal ribbon for an EK II and the KVK is correct also.
