    Knights Cross Ribbon

Hello Forum Members, I was digging through some stuff and I found this. It appears to be a correct Knights Cross Ribbon, I found one before that I was using as a bookmarker and I forgot it in a book for amny years.
It is 17.5 inches long, 1.75 inches wide. It appears not to glow under blacklight and I have no clue where I got it. Over the years I have bought many collections.
Any opinions, or is it not enough information.
    Thanks,
    Jack

Based just on the woven edges, it is not original.

Okay, a clarification question here. Am I correctly understanding that the edges on the ribbon shown in these photos ARE NOT the looped edges I've so often seen discussed here?

In the photo below I've combined a section of the ribbons from two different posts. The right side is from the photo initiating this thread, while left is from an older post asking the same question about a different ribbon. I tried to match them as much as possible for a side by side comparison. The ribbon in the older post got positive feedback. Today's post, not so much.

To my untrained eye, the edges on both ribbons appear to be quite similar and have similar looping. However, to the trained eye, apparently something is different. What is it? As best I can tell, the photo posted today has about 22 threads in the white stripe-but the photo is poor. It could be more but it could also be less.

I have no dog in the fight, this is simply an interesting dichotomy, and a great opportunity to teach/learn. Anyone care to share?

On the fake, the edge is a continuously woven straight line, "bridging" all the rows. On the other, each row ends in a self-contained "circuit loop". That's not explaining it very well, but it's the best I can do at the moment.
