Medal bar question

Gents,

I showed this to Trevor yesterday and he was able to handle it. We are sure all the medals are good but not sure if it is period or put together. He said it passed the smell test but thought I should post it here to see if anyone had any thoughts.

Hi Nick,

I'm not good at bars but in pure TR bar ( all medals are from TR) I think annexation medal should be as last after long service and there shouldn't be KVK IMO if TR Ekii is present. I also noticed that LW eagle is very low.

It can be custom made bar.

IMO this is a Friedrich Orth cross but R.Souval core nice piece

Although I am not familiar with the long podium fake, the fact that the LS award is not in the correct position is not a big flag. I have medal bars in my collection that are in reverse order.

This medal bar is badly out of order. The precedence should be:

-Iron Cross 2.Kl.
-War Merit Cross 2.Kl.
-Russian Front Medal
-4 Year Medal
-Sudetenland Medal

The ribbons look very new to me and also there is the possibility that the Sudetenland Medal is a fake, as pointed out by Peter.

One should not look purely at the condition as a fake indicator.
The eagle could be put on later, easier to apply it low since you have to bend the prongs.
One fake medal is also not a pure fake indicator, a medal can fall off, i see it pretty often.
Wrong order of the medals can also be tricky and not alone a fake indicator.


Imo this bar is put together not too long ago.
