    Scrunch bead EK I ?

    Hi guys....

Just got this unmarked '39 EK I screwback.

It appears to be a scrunch bead frame but I'm away from my references.

What do you think? Any and all comments appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    All the best.

    Tony

Look at the beading on the inside upper right corner by the the swaz. Am I seeing it correctly?

      Thanks!

I think I can see them where you're pointing to, but we really need better picture. Can you try a close up or at least an enlarged picture of that part of the beading?

            Hi Tony,

The low set date and the "scrunch" bead lead me to think it's a W&L.

            Regards,
            Stu

If you see a low 1939, nearer the frame than usual, then most often it's a w&l cross. Juncker have a similar appearance but is much rarer.

Unfortunately some of the floch fakes also have the low 1939 but they are much more ugly imo.

You don't see a W&L screw back every day !

I have three W&Ls in my collection, two marked (different styles) and one unmarked. Jim

                          Thanks guys!

It's definately is a W&L. I appreciate your input and I have a couple of pics of the way it was packaged to sell. This was bought last night at a local sportsman's club swap night..

                          I didn't argue the price.

                          All the best.

I'm sure you didn't. That will take 1st place in the Find of the Year contest!
