    fake Juncker KC???

Could this one of the fake Juncker KCs that have been circulating lately? Or, is it original? I have compared it against my own and see several variations, but still would like opinions. This one even looks like it has flaws in the beading similar to S&Ls. Could just be the lighting on the cross though.

    Thanks.

I love to see things like this. Not a true Juncker (and not a true Zimmermann, either, although it tries). More photos are badly needed.

Not an original Juncker produced cross!

                Hi,
Look at the spacing of the beading in this area.

Although there is some cross hatching on the beading, as a whole the beading doesn't' match. Have a look at the Junckers in the RK database (one of the stickies for this forum) and you'll see Leroy's description is a good one.

At first glance, when I saw this cross for the first time, I thought it was a Juncker cross, but once I studied it I found that I didn't like many things that I was seeing. The cross hatching looks nothing like the cross hatching on my Juncker cross. And as pointed out the beading spacing was uneven in places. Just FYI this cross sold on an online auction today with a final hammer price of $1,700. These online auctions attract many fakes and willing buyers looking for a bargain but get taken thinking that they have found a gem. I admit that I'm no expert with Knights Crosses; I didn't see some of the different attributes that Leroy sees, but I did feel that this wasn't a cross to throw money at.

On this cross, I like the combination of Juncker and Zimmermann attributes, the appearance, spacing and placement of the dates, the frame in general, and simply the overall "look" of the cross. If I had had the chance to examine it "in hand" and had still felt good about it, I might actually have been willing to spend money for it . "herrgeezer", however, is quite correct that many online auctions are a sucker's delight of fake material looking for a home. It is a shame that this cross, before auction, was not put up for discussion here, with photos on demand, specifications, measurements, etc., for posterity, if nothing else. I have the feeling, though, that more and more people are reluctant to post anything out of the ordinary here for review.

I think you might be right. Sadly a lot of fakes will slip through, but even more sadly a lot of interesting items will not be seen either. No discussion means no reference material for the future.

A new one for me. Do you know who made this type or where it came from?
