    Floch Fake

I was offered this today - an obvious Floch fake. The dealer works only in Imperial, but he bought this knowing I like all EKs. He swears to never touch a piece of 3rd Reich again! Ah, Floch...

    Regards,
    Marc

    They're everywhere!

    Cheers,
    David.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

My concern is we will see the same crosses offered again and again. My friend will go get a refund from the guy who sold him the cross. This individual will invariably sell it to another person, and we may see this cross again. And others. It is too bad, but we are the ever vigilant!

For those of us that are still learning, what is it that makes this an obvious fake?
What are some of the tell-tell signs we need to look for?

Another thing to look at, the bottom loop of the "3" in "1939" is much more open than on genuine EKs.
