IMO close, but not a match.

And I agree with Ben on this, to many different markings on this type of Spange.

The one that started this thread is definitely the same design as the P&L catalogue photo and the one Giel found, and probably the same exact die. I respect all opinions about this type but I have no doubt that this design existed during the war personally. I've thought this for many years.

In my opinion you can tell the originals of this type by the finish and the prongs on the reverse. Originals should have none of this sloppy flashing on the edges (first photo, which is a fake), and also should have these single bent prongs, not sunken into a trough (second photo, which is probably a good one). No original I've seen has any mark, but of course 21, L/16 and L/4 marks are all fakes.

I'm not saying any example that is well-finished and has the correct type of prongs is good, but I'd bet money that some of them are.

I guess this is a good one but I don't know for sure since I've never held it:

Lastly I will import esteemed researcher Andreas Klein's comments from the other thread into this one:

                Dear Friends,
                I have read your message.
The EK2 ribbon are old, and the spange are not recent.
I'm sorry for my english. But I don't understand if the spange are good or not?
                Best regards

                    Hi Huioki,

                    I don't think there is a consensus.

Can you please post a photo showing how the prongs are attached to the reverse of the Spange?
                    Best regards,

                      Regards
